![]() If sailing a ship around and joining into a fleet with your friends to fight other people or NPCs, raid NPC settlements, and complete various unique and reoccurring missions to defend/escort/raid/supply/sink/harvest different things as you progressively craft different ships and customize their loadouts and equipment then you should be set. A large portion of the people excited for this game seems to have developed the assumption that it was going to be Black Flag 2, rather than what it was always marketed as which was a predominantly sailing game with limited on-foot exploration of hub regions. ![]() Going off what's been shown the object of the game is a relatively persistent open world Indian Ocean Pirate themed SAILING experience.that means if your pirate fantasy is to sword fight with people on the decks of ships/on land or swim/run/climb through expansive on land colonies/jungles/islands IE Assassin's Creed Black Flag, then it seems you're out of luck. You take enough shots at the side of a barn you are bound to hit it sometime, and you'll get a lot of 20/20 hindsight arm chair expert analysis of it all. You'll see games called flops that sell perfectly well, games become hits months after their launch, games that do fail to find an audience, and games nobody sees coming explode to the top of the charts. ![]() A lot of the video game "playing" community likes to think they have their finger on the pulse of what games will and won't succeed more so than the people that actually make games, but they don't really. People are talking out their ass on this one same as any other game. ![]()
